Yep looks like a car club rally, I used to do those. A Ghia would be as competitive as your Navigator's map-reading skills. Although he'd have been drummed out of our car club with those kerb-feelers to protect his white-walls Wink

That's a fairly rare photo of a Karmann Ghia.

There's plenty of rusty Karmann Ghia photos, but not very many photos depicting exactly what initially jumpstarted that corrosion. Smile


Being from the Midwestern Rust Belt myself, I can recognize a puddle of salty water on a snow covered driveway when I see one.

Yes, I'm cringing seeing this Karmann Ghia standing in the snow and slush.
We know that rust is already found a home inside the rocker assemblies and just above the headlight bowls inside those beautiful low light cabriolet front fenders!!
