Whilst installing my engine, the vacuum pipe on the vacuum canister on the distributer broke off again.
What's the best method of fixing it?

Buy a new or used vacuum canister....
if that's not possible I imagine you can't braze weld or silver solder it since it has a rubber/fabric diaphragm inside, unless you take it apart first......you might try cleaning it thoroughly and using JB weld or the equivalent. _________________ Currently own : 1969 Beetle w/ 1600cc, Single Port, Solex 30 PICT 2, Dist. 113 905 205 T, stock exhaust.

Many thanks for your suggestion.
I did epoxy it last time and it held ok, until I Manhandled the engine back in, and it broke off again.
