I dig the little hop seat with utilized space under the table and the stove with fold-out tray. What is the stuff up in the head knocker?

Awning poles. My thought is to have the part between the hinges drop down with a bracket to hold the poles. I came up with an awning design that looks original but breaks down into poles that fit between the hinges. Hopefully I can make something work.

I am trying to utilize every space I can.

Took the day off to get some parts done.

I didn't want to get sand in the beam so I pushed a ball of thin plastic almost through the arms from the inside. The plastic pushed up a lot of grease so the sand couldn't get by. Stuck the arms in the beam and it worked well. After blasting I just pushed the plastic the rest of the way through and all the sand and access grease pushed out with it.

Got a few other parts done as well.

Found a closer color for the intake and painted the cooling flaps grey.

Finally got a new hinge on its way so decided to remove mine.

That was fun. Going to build a proper tool before attempting to put them back. Really should have built the tool before removing them. Wasn't very safe.

Removed the emergency light from my old dash. I had tried a few times but couldn't start it and didn't want to damage the ring.

15/16" wrench fits the back. I heated the back a bit but not enough to melt the lense. Held the ring with an insulated rubber glove and was able to turn it off.

Nut was missing for the door stop. No access to weld from behind so welded a new nut to some metal. Drilled a couple holes and bolted the plate on then plug welded and ground smooth.

Today I did a lot of odd stuff. Filled holes that someone drilled. Fixed some broken spot welds over the engine compartment. Removed a few dents. Cleaned up some welds I missed...

And this. Now that my hinges are out I decided to get this rust fixed. I have been avoiding it. Was worried what I was going to find but the rust turned out not to have spread and the metal around the holes was good.

Fix the remaining metal issues.

One side window sill was rusted. Cut it out and welded a new piece in.

Nose had some holes. Cut out what I thought would be thin. The one under the headlight had foam stuffed in there causing the rust. Removed it a checked the other side but it was clear.

Small section of lip was bad so replaced. Bottom center of nose was bad also. Only had one pin hole but the point was thin. Once I cut out the section I could see why they rust there. Will get lots of rust treatment in the nose once it's painted.

Had a bit of time so got out my splash pan. I want to fit it before painting the bottom of the bus.

Straitened it out some and scrapped the crap off it. Turns out it is in great shape. Just a little surface rust, no pitting. Once I blast it I will straiten it a bit more and fit it to the bus.

I just read this entire thread. I am very impressed with the quality and pace of the work. I am in Maine, if you need any pieces or parts, I may be able to help. Keep up the great work.

Thanks and thanks.

Actually the only thing I am having a hard time finding is the latch section of a church key engine lid. Trying to save a little by modifying my newer one but looking like I will need to buy a complete lid.

And my tires arived. 5 x Maxtrek SU810 185r14 C
I like the look and price was good.

Need to get my rims blasted and painted soon. Going to try balancing beads with them. Not sure anyone around here can balance them and I don't want weights on them anyway.

I may have a church key deck lid. I will check my stash when the rain stops.
Nice looking tires.

Body work today. I want to get all the filler done before painting the inside and bottom incase I had to do any metal work.

Nose and right side filler is finished. Filler is all quite thin anyway.

Started getting the inside ready for paint.

And if your using zinc primer make sure it's good and dry before painting over. I had to scrape most of the primer off the bottom of the spare tire and tool box area where it had started to lift. I had forgotten to put the zine on those areas so did it just before applying the apoxy primer. I had waited until it looked dry but definitely wasn't enough.

I got a little worried so tried scraping the primer off on the other areas with zinc under but all were bonded.

Primer on the nose, right rear and bottom.

Hope to paint the bottom and engine compartment this week. Have to keep reminding myself that this is for driving not displaying. Decided to go dove blue on the bottom instead of the flat grey. I like the blue around the wheels but don't like the original overspray look. It will be covered in dirt most of the time anyway. I live on a gravel road... Sometimes mud road.

Still haven't gotten the bottom and engine compartment painted. Had an issue with seam sealer lifting the paint so needed to scrape some down to steel and redo. That was annoying. Ready to paint now but will wait until tomorrow.

Getting some parts assembled. Got my springs in and a spindle on. Arm offset was 7mm on both sides so that made thing simple.
