I know! I had asked on another thread where he was commenting if these were actually his being distributed by BD but he didn't respond.
I read their description a little closer though and it says, "It is not recommend for heavy items such as a kayak" on the heavy duty ones so not sure they are the same as his.
I think I'm going to order the dual JB kit. _________________ 87 2wd manual. |

I'm pretty sure it's the same. BD has to say that so as to not take on the liability and have to deal with upset customers and/or lawsuits. _________________ 89 Westy 2.1 Auto |

Aside from price, how does the JB/VC kit compare to the GoWesty kit? I've had a roof box and a few bikes on top of my pop top. The Yakima steel roof rack isn't too light on it's own. |

I have the BD ones installed and they work awesome. At different times I have different loads so I debated on the heavy dut. Sometimes I have nothing and other times I have a canoe and bikes like when we are doing a quick overnighter. The heavy duty would work well with the heavy load but with nothing it would be difficult to get the top down.
With the regular installed and no load the top flies up and I have to struggle to get it down but It is not a problem. With the heavy load I am able to push it up as before I had to have my wife help.
Very glad I installed them. I recommend if you lift with any loads. _________________ 82 Westy: Air is cool! |

Installed the JB ones tonight, wow! I was nervous as hell I'd screw up and have holes in the pop top but after measuring about a billion times got them installed without issue.
