|
|
Vehicle: 1971 VW bus
I bought a new window regulator for my VW Bus to replace the old one. Old one is in great condition but the welded tab on the bottom is missing. As you can see in the pictures the pieces do not coincide perfectly.
I could fit the new regulator but difference in height make it jutting out inside the channels making it impossible to fit the ¼ window. The issue is that glass winder piece is about ½ inch lower compared to the original. Is this piece adjustable?
Has anyone of experienced this issue?
Thank you

Hey chocolate milk,
I replaced my drivers regulator in my 1871 last summer. The thing is I bought an original part because I had read that these replacements were junk. I'd have to be there to really tell what your problem is. Bring it over sometime if you want. _________________ Lead Mechanic: San Diego Air and Space Museum

I suggest you put the original part back in and improvise a clamp of some sort for the missing bottom bracket.
Or get a good used genuine part. _________________ '67 bug: seized by the authorities

Aeromech 1871? Now that is one rare bus. Better hold on to it. _________________ 1972 Bus 1700 cc Single Carb. But not a progressive.

Wish I still had the ones I got rid of.
