I really like ragnars design, but I dont know how to weld. His looks really solid and simple.

I went with daves suggestion

Seems solid. If someone was determined they could hack saw through I suppose. It seems to be enough of a deterrent to have someone bust in and give up.

One thing is maybe having the LED blinking light be red instead of bright white would help if parked at night somewhere. Happy with my purchase took 4 days to get here shipped via DHL from the UK. A kill switch is next on the list, but I don't mind redundancy.

Looks like these all lock the clutch and brake pedals in the "up" position.

Almost seems like if you could lock the brake pedal down and clutch up, it would make it even more difficult to steal!

Or at least lock the brake pedal down, so they are applied all the time.

An alternative, or possibly an addition to the pedal locks:

Lift the van so the wheels are off the ground. Its probably a fools errand, but I wanted to see what stuff is out there to do the 'big RV' thing and use auto-leveling stuff. Maybe could get away with 3 of these:

I also wouldn't mind having a console with an up/down for each jack and have that console lock or otherwise inaccessible.

If the wheels don't touch the ground, it'd be pretty hard to get a vehicle to move.

how about a keyed switch wired to a brake line lock.
http://www.ebay.com/bhp/brake-line-lock

step on brakes, set key switch.

but then it's going to be sucking power to hold while you're gone.

be a bad way to kill a battery.

Dan, back in my beetle days, there was a hydraulic based e-brake mechanism. You'd push the brake pedal down, then activate the hydraulic plunger that would keep the pressure on the brake until released.

I haven't seen those things for a long time, but that doesn't mean they are not around. One could be set up with a key, or in a special location, I guess.
