I see some used Muir manuals on the 'net.......
The latest edition is #19 - when was it published?
Is it necessary to own the latest?
I'm not cheap, just thrifty |

John Muir died so any update after say '79 really isn't an update anyway.
I like the spiral bound ones, they're easier to use.
Don't us it for technical data, but use it for how to do it if you don't have a clue.
Back in the '70's it's how I started working on VW's.
3 days left on this one for $4.25 and zero bids

If you already know how to work on cars, then just get the Bentley Manual. _________________ Good Luck

I recently watched a You Tube video on John Muir. He was quite the character.
I have his book and use it on a regular basis. The one thing I find lacking with his book is diagrams/photos. I'm more of a visual learner and photos help me a lot. |

Please understand those 2 manuals will help you take it apart and put it back together and keep it running. I would not trust the torgue specs or other critical measurements listed in the books. _________________ 2017 Street Comp Champion - Thunder Valley Raceway Park - Noble, OK

What books do you recommend? I also use the above books but am always looking for more reference material. |

I use the Bentley manuals. I have had one since 1981. I have three I use, the Blue, Green and Orange manuals. (Correspond to different types of VWs). _________________ Bad News Racing 2018 NORRA 1000 3rd in Class
