Took a 5/16 dowel, cut a slot in the end. Inserted a chunk of scotch brite pad small enough to fit through the slots. Spun with my cheap cordless... Got to a lot of places I couldn't with just a paint stick.

Nice. Now to just figure out how to get paint down in there. |

I'm going to try the airbrush or touch up gun trick. Thought about masking the outside to paint the inside, then try to block the vents from the back and then paint the outside. Sounds, ah easy huh?... |

A duster?
Some of these can get into some pretty tight places, and they're flexible. |

Did you glue the pad onto the dowel? If not did it fly off or stay put?
Thanks for the idea. _________________ 1964 Beetle |

NICE idea!
I sandblasted it.
To paint it again, I took a spray can and changed out the nozzle for a nozzle with a straw(from some brake-clean), then stuck the sprayer nozzle on the end of the straw.
A bit hard to aim, but it worked. |

I blasted mine too. But I then just sprayed it with the gun on full round, then wiped off the outside part with some thinner. Same thing with the clear coat. Then came back and painted the car like normal. |

Cut a split in the dowel, I have since changed to a 1/4 inch steel rod. The wood one wanted to break on the grain. Used a hack saw to cut a slot in the rod, then spread it out a little with a screw driver. The roughness of the saw cut holds the pad in. The PO had sandblasted the area and primed but the area was very rough from over spray. Have not sprayed yet, sanding the rest of body. |

OK, going to try it out with a metal rod. Thanks for the tip.
