Congratulations! Turkis doubles are among my favorite VWs. Unfortunately, you do know that work on the early Ghia will without a doubt grind to a halt!

Did you have to take the gallon jugs of used engine oil, or are they saving them as fuel for when the Apocalypse comes?

Any interior pics of the camper?

I just added to my VW family. I am the proud new owner of this fine beast that has been in hiding for 25 year in a backyard in Silicon Valley. The engine still works well and in a few weeks it will be on the road again and off to new adventures in California. Hope to take it to Blackstar 2018. And yes I will have some questions for the group.

Don't toss the cover for your tilt. If all the pieces are still there it is possible to resew the seams. I had one on my DC that had been used as a goat shelter. The pieces were separated and the goats had trampled all over them. But that material is indestructible! I had a local saddle maker stitch it back together and it was beautiful.

Yup. 2fer deal. Seemingly complete interior. It has the cot but no tent. I have that covered already.

I don't want that split. I saw it in the woods 15 years ago. A buddy wants the oval but it's not for sale yet.

Here is a video from yesterday of the 1963 Double Cab alive after 25 years of just sitting around waiting for more California adventures.
