Have fun!
FWIW, 69 did not have a headbanger cabinet. They had a net , and in the very back a bent wood hinge cover. You can tell by the notch in theback corner of the closet cabinet.
At least it is not missing the apron.

thanks Clara!! I have been searching and searching for pictures of how the upper bed works. I just cant seem to find on youtube or this site how it all works. looks like some kind of hinge unit that flips down from the side? I know I am missing all of that and want to find that so I can have a bed to lay up there. is that something that I can buy aftermarket? are they hard to find? I would need everything involved.... what I need to do is probably find a VW show in my area, and see if I can find a camper in my year to see how it all works. thanks for showing me the netting. I kinda like that cabinet though... I am also thinking about building my own cabinetry out of birch wood and staining to my liking. I have everything for templates (besides headbanger, sink, fridge, spice rack), and it really doesn't look like a hard task to do. then it would be all fresh inside!! |

That's a $4500 bus in California? I'll be set if I ever need to sell mine!
But seriously, if you're happy, that's all that matters.
I'm glad to see it saved and look forward to see your progress. _________________ 1978 Delux Campmobile

thanks Xevin!! that company in the UK is the ticket.. but it doesn't look like it is foldable at the head so that you can get in and out? but it looks to be all metal, which I think would be ideal for a bigger guy like me.. also the price seems ok... |

So you overpaid for an early westy and expect a full bed up top like a late model? You're looking at a bunch of modifications/different top. Consider using the main bed or I'd lose the down payment and search for a late model that has an engine and the interior you want for that kind of money. _________________ 1964 Type3 Notch

What's wrong with using the lower bed? _________________ "A rolling bus gathers no rust." |

thanks for being the 5th person to put in the fact that I "overpayed"... LOL. I don't recall asking anyones opinion on what is a great price in my area on a westfalia camper? why is everyone telling me this? ITS NOT YOUR MONEY!! I am asking legitimate questions not even related to price. |

You could have saved at least $100 by taking off 6 weeks from work, flying to Maine, pulling out the same car with a rented helicopter, and then getting the colour you wanted too.

Good Morning All, I am actually hoping to have it in my garage by October. I am really excited about it actually, and will be going out there periodically to clean it up. |
