Hello people;
I was wondering if this type of engine can be fitted to a 1965 VW Beetle. And if it is possible, where can I find build pictures to use as reference? Thank you all for your time and guidance.   |

There is a lot of infotmation on the samba and probabaly even more on the Shoptalk forums.
You want to search "type 4 conversion".
There is a whole thread header in the type 4rum on the STF about why to choose a conversion of type 4 engine into type 1 vehicle.....with many owners and links to their projects.

DTM conversion (for upright cooling) - $800 see

Flywheels swap out (cast T4 bus flywheel works - $100
Exhaust - $500-1000 ouch!
With DTM you have no heat or thermostat. If you weld (Belvoir's craft shop?) you can do a Joe Cali conversion to upright keeping heat and thermostat for $200.
