Does anyone know if you can switch out the pop top with the hammock on a 71 Campmobile, for one with the double bed?
Not sure if there is a size difference or not? Just need the extra space for a growing family. |

I seem to have a fuel leak just under my gas heater in our 71 campmobile. Is that my fuel filter just under the heater in this photo?
I am getting a steady drip of gas from the end of that wing nut and looking for some advice on how to fix it.
thanks everyone! |

I think that is the fuel filter for the gas heater. The fuel pump for the heater is on top. |

Stop driving it until fixed.
Once you have identified the make of the heater , ask the mods to split your topic into anew thread on servicing your heater fuel supply _________________ .ssS! |

Try tightening the wing nut, if that fails you'll have to dismantle the strainer and replace the gasket. To do that you'll probably have to drain the fuel tank unless you have a hose pincher, it's probably time for all new rubber lines anyways. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

That is an early BN4 heater and yes, that is your fuel filter. You can pinch the line to the heater from underneath. Above the transaxle you will see the fuel tank hose hookup. Likely there is a "Y" there and you can pinch it off with a set of vice grips or similar. Take the filter apart and replace the gasket, making sure to use something fuel and/or ethanol proof.

Thanks Chris, I will give that a try. So that cylinder with the wing nut at the bottom is the filter?
I'm wondering if there is an easy way to disconnect fuel to the BN4 heater all together? It works but is old and I don't really need it during the warm months that the bus is on the road.
thanks again! |

Depending on who has done what there should be a Toronto in the fuel line. Trace the line back from the heater ,remove the TV and run the hose from the gas tank directly to the carbs or carb or filter... _________________ "Always waiting for tomorrow ruined everything"

Even if you don't use your heater it's best to run it every 6 months to keep the diaphragms wet with fresh gas. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

In a no doubt vain attempt to bring some dignity to this thread, yes, the cylinder with the wing nut is a filter of sorts. More like a trap under your sink. I basically has a rubber o-ring on top and the wing nut holds it in place.
You can disconnect the fuel supply to the heater altogether by simply removing the t-fitting from the fuel line under the car and running one hose only to the fuel pump. Cap off the heater's fuel line as you see fit and you are done.

The effort you would put forth to disconnect the heater fuel line, you could easily replace the bowl gasket.
If you ever plan to use it again.
