Hi folks. I see there's a stereo thread in the Vanagon forum but I'm not sure questions like this are appropriate there.
I got what is most likely a great deal on a used iDA-X305 Alpine head unit with KTP-445 4 channel amp. I'm installing them into my Vanagon. The amp is "plug and play"; it connects directly to the head unit socket. The HU didn't c/w a separate plug with just wires.
If 2 speakers are connected to 2 of the amps channels (L:1 R:2) but the other 2 channels remain disconnected (no load on them), will this damage those channels?
When the amp is connected to the HU are the RCA outputs rendered in-op? i.e. do they get bypassed internally in the HU?
Does anyone know if this amp allows channel bridging?
Thanks

sorry - just saw this. If you still need it:

No, it will be fine to only run L and R front (or rear)

Unsure - it would not make sense to do so though. I can't imagine Alpine to not think about that for someone that still wants to drive a separate amp with subwoofers
