Howdy!
So, I've been looking all over and this is driving me crazy, 74s have one off parts usually on things like this.
My ghia, has a speedo that looks like this, notice the base of the needle:
But I have also seen ones like this, needle base with silver disk:
which is correct for 1974? I received the bottom one from KGPR but the date on the back is 72. The owners manual looks like The latter but I dont know if that is correct. Ive seen both is many many cars in the gallery. Can all the 74s speak up?

They would be unlikely to re-shoot all the photos in the owner's manual for a minor change like that.
Also note the other photo on that page does not show the woodgrain dash.

Thanks man, but with a part number of 411 I would assume that's for a TYPE4 unless all rules for vw parts numbers go out the window. ERRRR hence my frustrations.

Black on my 74 which is stock. So the 411 pn must have been re-purposed on these.

It's more than worth it to us.) this forum is by far the best German car forum in the world. One question and everyone wants to help. Less than 8hrs. I was an og vw vortex and those wasser guys don't want to help anyone. Also a member of pelican. S14. Spyder550s. And many other BMW forums. Sambanistas are the greatest no matter what I said about you hippies in the 90s. I know it's weird I have a nra sticker on my Ghia. But damn right I learned to drive on a type 2 and found my way back to the best group of people in the world. I can't believe how many international people out here contribute to this forum and it's amazing.
Ps 74 fat chicks unite! Where's Greg now adays? I still watch his YouTube channel.

My understanding was that the 1972-1974 gauges all have a 411 part number, as they were shared with Type 4s.
