I haven't found a new replacement for that moulding. The only hope I think you have is heat. You can put the moulding in the clothes dryer for a few minutes, in a warm oven on a cookie sheet, or simply use a hair dryer. Get it warm then stretch it out until cool. A little white glue in the slot before installing will help it stay put for many more years. Good luck! _________________

I use a hair dryer it works fine and you don't have to remove the trim to fix some of it.

I use to drink the regular dew but had to switch but I need to quite it all together. I drink WAY to much of the stuff. Iam happy the way the trim pulled out with the blow dryer and I didn't have to remove it from the door of which I think it would have broken up trying that. I have fixed many feet of trim this way its not purfect but close.

In addition to straightening and all that is the how white and clean it looks. With soapy water it can be sanded with fine wet or dry sandpaper. Try different grits. Sand down bad looking spots. Smooth out nicks and flaws. Polish it with polish. Try different grades of rubbing compound and polish from course stuff to fine stuff. Even the toothpaste containing abrasives is a great polish. _________________ 71 Superbug

Bus Depot now sells the molding:

Any tips on cutting the thin channels in the molding to fit through the hinges? |
