I called Mike at House of Ghia last week. He has NO DASH PADS.
He told me he lost his fiberglass guy and has no one to make them. He has the mold, just no one to make them. It may be months if ever before he gets around to finding someone to make them and then have them available. I dont want to wait, I got cash burning a hole in my pocket
So... If you are interested in one of his fiberglass dash tops with the french stich or without...Call him, let him know there is a demand and maybe he will move on this quicker. Thanks!! |
I got mine from http://www.glass-action.com/ its a nice looking dash pad that fits ......
I wouldn't be surprised if they were the supplier to many Ghia site which sell a fiberglass dash pad. |

I suggest you check out upholstery shops in your area. Look for one that does work on classic/old cars. _________________ "Sometimes people forget they signed up to a HELP & SHARE Forum not a pissing contest"

Is there any special advice abt reinstalling the padded dash on a 68 Ghia? The dash that I have, which I think is original, has embedded screws that fit through holes in the metal frame of the car itself. They are accessible through the front hood. Two small Phillips head screws then secure the edges of the dash near the doors. However I'm having trouble aligning the windshield vents with the holes in the dash. It is as if the whole dash wants to be closer to the windshield but that can't happen if the screws are inserted into the pre-drilled holes. Am I doing something wrong? |

If you are re-installing an original dash you may have shrinkage from years of sitting in the sun. . |
True, as I found on my '68. Mine was loose, shrunk and cracked. Nevertheless, I was able to do a fibreglass repair and have the dash pad re-upholstered and with those French stiches too. Waiting to pick up matching armrests today. _________________ Festina lente - hasten slowly
