I have a'76 bay and there is a little play in my sliding door handle on the exterior side.
The Bentley diagram doesn't match with my set up.
Can anyone tell me what I am missing to make it a snug fit? Thanks in advance!

The play is back to front (pull in-out) , or side to side (rotation)?
if it is rotation play, nothing you can do.
If it is back to front, there used to be a washer with a square hole that fits through the shaft that you seem to have missing.
It was on early early models but I don't know if it was on the late 75+ models.
Update: Based on parts list, it isn't on the late model parts list.
Instead, there is a sealing washer on the outside that goes in this sequence:
Handle -> sealing washer -> packing (circular thing you have in the picture).
Sealing washer is: 211 843 731

Yes. The play is back to front. Thank you so much!
I will try to locate the sealing washer! _________________ All the redemption I can offer, girl, is beneath this dirty hood
