Does anyone know how many Ragtops and how many convertible beetles were made in the oval days?
Is there any information out there about how many may have survived? |

The only information you both ask that is known is the number of Karmann Beetle convertibles for each year. Other than that, VW didn't publish ratios of sunroof cars to non-sunroof cars.
Survival numbers anyone throws around are just wild guesses. _________________

The only way you are going have any idea on ragtop survival #s is to start a registry. There is a registry for split bugs. So you can go to split forum and look through it and count up the numbers. Given the production numbers for ovals that would be a major undertaking and the problem would be participation could really bias what you have. |

I would think the vw museum would have figures since they issue birth certificates with the classification of "sunroof" for ovals. Any other ideas on what other alternatives for data there would be? |
