Our neighbour has a rabbit convertible for sale, hasn't run for a few years.
Stored indoors for the last 15 years (possible longer with POs), really nice condition. Seriously considering it for a summer daily driver. Gas engine, manual tranny.

Just looking for any good, bad or ugly info on these. Thanks! Very Happy

Lots of NLA fuel system parts that don't like extended periods of inactivity. Leave the top up or down, it's likely to fall apart if you start exercising it if it's original.

That's a problem, but not a deal-breaker. K-Jetronic doesn't like sitting, so you'll need to perform some fuel system work. How much work depends on how varnished the system is.

I have heard that some of the top seals/weatherstrips for the convertible are hard to source.

Just popping in to update, had it towed to our realiable garage (keeps our westy running!), it checked out pretty well so we bought it! Has had the fuel system totally redone and needs a few minor-ish things. Look forward to cruising around with the top down next summer!! Very Happy
