I purchase a running Berrien framed buggy a wile back for less than the cost of a new frame and have been working on it for a while. I do have some questions and hope someone can help.

I installed and bled the slave cylinder with the engine out and know it is moving but with the engine installed there is not enough travel to disengage the clutch. The master and slave cylinders are both Latest Rage that I bought as NOS and there were no instructions.

Set the rear torsion bar angle at 13 degrees and the wheels are cambered in a good bit. What would be a good setting? Any recommendation on new spring plates?

With the engine at operating temp the oil pressure is 40 psi at speed and 15 psi at idle. Cold idle pressure is 35 psi at startup. Is this within limits?

Thanks in advance for any help/advice, Dave.

Hi Dave,

Since (based on your gallery photos) it appears that you have a Berrien rail frame, you may get a better response over at the samba's HBB Off-Road forum.

That oil pressure sounds right in line for a stock engine with stock oil pump.

As far as the camber on the rear wheels "it's cambered in a bit" does that mean in at the top of the wheels or in at the bottom? Is it a swing axle or an IRS?
And why do you think you need new spring plates?

Rear tires are cambered in at the top. One of the spring plates has a slight bend. 13 degrees is too soft. Know a stock bug setting is 20 degrees so would 16 degrees work? Buggy won't see much offroad use
