I had a couple issues with my poor dog on the trip, but I thoroughly enjoyed the drive on Saturday.
Here are a few of my pics.
These guys were surely enjoying the "parade."
"Are we going up that hill next?"
That trailer just seemed to happily bounce along the path.
Camit34, I took nearly the same pic as you, mere moments later! (I saw your bus at the shop, but was in a big hurry to get to Colorado Springs, and was afraid to leave the sick Great Dane alone in the bus!

Finally back home, ourselves. Thanks Rich and everyone for another memorable adventure in the mountains. Here are a few of my best pics.
As much as this is not really an organized event, here are some of the other random trips that I think may be responsible for the past weekend.
big bus Mike inspired us with his

and Chris and I followed up that trip with this one

and Mike held another Snow Adventure

After a bit of a hiatus Rich & Manfred took up the torch with the
Colorado: Medano Pass Muster July 31-Aug 2, 2015

so we returned to the S.San Juans but in Summer instead of Fall
Colorado: Southern San Juans Trip II, July 29-31, 2016

...and that led us to this Southwest Colorado off road adventure.
Thanks for a new route, Rich! |

I'm so happy this trip has grown to what it has today. I had no idea BBM put trips on back is 2012 and 13, until this trip. Super stoked the Wander Bus crew make it, it not the same without them! There has to be more pics out there, please post them, we all want to see them.
Hope to see all the front range crew at the Buses at The Brewery event in two weeks. I'm hoping to make the Friday night campout but not 100% on that yet.
Can't wait for next years trip! Gunnison? _________________ __________

It seems as if the whole crew had a blast. Not sure if my type one could have crossed the water due to low clearence. Other then that it would not have been and issue.
If the GMC would have tagged along I would have been banished for sure. _________________ Volkswagen: We tune what we drive.

Gunnison has some great territory north and south of town. Good idea. My Bus is running, looks like my distributor is not advancing correctly however. _________________ Fat chick owner/operator |

Good question, the locals are getting restless and summers fill up fast on peoples schedules. Maybe a route outside Paonia?? That is such a cool town with lots of forest trails. Lets start talkin' _________________ Fat chick owner/operator |

Sorry for the lack of updates, folks. Been busy!
Like Richie said, this year's installment of the SW Colorado off-road adventure will be the last weekend of July, the 27th-29th. That will put the trip the weekend before the Rhythms On The Rio music festival in South Fork (Aug 3-5). ROTR did free admission and camping for people in VW busses last year, and I'm hoping they'll do the same this year.
I don't have a finalized route to share just yet... Richie and I are going to firm that up "really soon". But I'm really targeting the Creede area, or maybe the Telluride/Dallas Divide/Ridgeway area.
I'll post up an official thread as soon as the route is nailed down... Hopefully by this time next week. |

Alright!! Good timing, the Creede area is rich with trails and not overrun with "Razor" driving boneheads. A stop at Blue Mesa would also be fun on a hot day. Thanks for proving an update. _________________ Fat chick owner/operator |
