I found a Buddy L VW bus. It was a large scale bus, blue and white, made in the USA. They wanted 8 bucks for it. It was a little rusty. Should I go back and get it?

Was it the 21 window style with sliding plastic sunroof? I have the orange and white one. I would buy it. Post photos if you get it........

Not if it's been beat to hell and someone repainted it, But for 8 bucks it would be cool to have anyway. I have a Tonka Dunebuggy that someone painted. I think it ruined the value but I still like it.

Eight bucks is pretty good for any VW toy...I'd say go for it.

I bought the pink Buddy-wagen at a Tulsa antique store for $25. Some dude sold one on ebay that same week for $175 (missing headlights), and a mint one in the box for $280!

Not the guy with them but honestly you could amass that many in a year pretty easily if you didn't care about price.

I see them for sale all the time.

Nice collection though, it's rare you see that many at once.
I think there is another guy on the site with that many or more too, unless he sold most or all them now. He was selling them for a while at shows.

They had 2 types of door hinges- so check for damage, Also used 3 rivets to hold the body to the chassis but usually if repaired they had small bolts and nuts.

the doors (tin type) had bent tabs and a bent piece that acted as a stop.

the seat inside fold own to form a platform.

gold stick on front emblem usually gone.

So i've been told. Embarassed Embarassed Shocked Shocked Very Happy Very Happy

ya $75 to whatever.
came in colors and ski and surf models.
