I'm going to SC with my family for the eclipse, anything to do there that's VW related. I was planning on Aubrey Watson, do I just show up there or do I need to call?

Next time you go to SC make sure it stands for SoCal. Doesn't sound like a lot of stuff going on down there in Gamecock country.

Yeah not much going on on a random weekday. Downtown columbia will probably shut down for the eclipse, I know a lot of offices are closed that day.

You don't specify where in sc you are headed. Aubrey is in orangeburg (call first), and I know vw yards all over the state, as I'm sure others here do also. If all you're looking to do is eclipse and vw, there isn't much. Columbia around the university will be crazy for sure in the evening, there is an active nightlife in 5 points (mostly college kids) or the Vista (post college +) or head out toward the airport for some legit biker spots. Depends on your flavor. There is carowinds (amusement park) on the nc/sc border at charlotte with lots of outlet stores.

Heading down to the Charleston. Then I guess to Orangeburg for Aubrey's. After a few days in SC we're heading up to Mt. Airy for the Andy Griffith town. Then we'll be heading back to CT. I'll be going with my Dad, Step Mom, And my little sister.

Lots of vw guys in Charleston area. Full moon bus club is based down there. Their website is incredibly slow but the Facebook is pretty active as I understand. Probably find someone to take you all over.

Patriot's point, the market downtown, ghost tour, inshore fishing (or deep sea if you have the time).

Cool thanks guys... Any prime viewing spots for the eclipse? I'm the one tasked with all figuring out these kind of things. I was thinking a beach, maybe Myrtle.

Myrtle Beach is going to be crowded.. SC is anticipating a million+ eclipse tourists and you know most people are thinking 'Beach!' too.

Myrtle also wont get the total eclipse (barely)
http://www.visitmyrtlebeach.com/things-to-do/events/total-eclipse-2017/

Really though, everything even remotely touristy along the total eclipse line is going to be crowded.
Have a fun trip
