I was looking for an electronic distributor WITH vacuum advance and was having a heck of a time finding one. I need it for my stock 1969 beetle and I didn't want to experience the typical stumbling at low RPM's that centrifugal distributors exhibit.
So, out of curiosity, I checked the AutoZone website because I buy parts for my other cars from them. And, much to my surprise, they have a brand new vacuum advance electronic distributor that includes a coil which mounts to the stock fan shroud coil mount holes. I installed it and it works fantastic. No stumble, strong spark and I've experience no flat spots or hesitation from about 650 RPM to redline. AND, the unit comes with a lifetime warranty since it is a DURALAST product.
Check them out. I think you'll be very happy. |

Well, it's almost like you won the lottery there. The longevity is the real test. Not trying to jinx you... I hope it lasts a long time. _________________ David Richerson

First off, I know i made stupid decisions that led to my predicament, so while you are welcome to tell me that I am an idiot for doing the things I did, please know that I am already aware of this. |
