I am preparing to sell my numbers matching 1965 Bug. It has the 5 original rims and I need to know where I can find the date coding on them

The date should be stamped on the flat area where the lug nuts pass through the rim. It'll be a small circle with the month over the year stamped in it.

Good Luck.

Also, just because someone else has an example of a date code, does not mean you will find them on yours. You should, but then again, but you might not.

still, the front rims I'm currently running on my 62, have clear date codes of 11/67, definitely aftermarket since stock Bugs were not using that style "smoothie" rim at that point of time.

I do not know how to fix this. All I can say is it all works fine for me with what I use, Firefox.
