I can't find my owner's manual at the moment but I seem to remember there are screws and "an adjusting bucket" (or maybe it's called something else). I assume this isn't different on my Thing even though I am now using Hella H4 units with LED "bulbs."
If my assumptions are correct, my remaining question is how do aim your headlights to get them right ... like, do you measure off a distance from a wall and then measure a spot on the wall for each headlight? Do you do this with the low beam, the high beam, or once each?
It seems mine are currently a little too low on both beams. I could trial and error my best guess but the other two cars I drive most frequently are a '14 Tiguan and an '02 Beetle Turbo S where my sitting positions differ from Thing. _________________ Now: 2003 New Beetle Turbo S / 1990 Single Cab Transporter / 2014 Tiguan R-Line 4motion / 2013 Tiguan S / 2002 Golf GLS TDI

I used to use the method Moonshine link gave, but don't have a nearby wall where I can do such. My present method is to get the weight right and then stop the car on a lonely section of road and adjust the headlights to my liking.
I typically set the driver side headlight to shine a tad lower than the passenger headlamp as this helps over rolling ground and with varying loads. |

I have a couple of walls in mind but I need to see them in person again to make sure they are on level ground. If not, your suggestion should be very doable near me. This will be the first thing I do when I return from vacation.
