Very inspiring thread! The work you have been pouring is all out and your splitty is getting to its destination to perfection each day! I remember the days and months that I was restoring my splitty! Every development is priceless! Congrats! _________________ '67 KG Cabrio (Mickey) ;

Really impressive body working skills.. I can tell you take the time to make your panels fit just perfect. Are you mig welding or Tig? and if so how are you getting such nice results after grinding? Typical flap discs? Really impressed !!! _________________ LOVE splits more than Jean-Claude Van Damme |

if you put a lot of time and love in it you get nice results
I use a mig welder
and some big bags of roloc grinding and abrasive discs
i buy them cheap on aliexpress (L-Paladin Abrasive Tools) and the are very good quality |

Oh cool. I've been using the 3M rolocs but I'm almost out and I'm having a tough time finding them online. I'll look into it 👆🏼Awesome build and detail btw. _________________ GFK

testing out some rust removers
replacing the whole panel seemed a bit excessive and yet another big job..
grinded the most of the rust out with a drill bit
And a wire brush
i used the noverox let's see how things work out.
i'm also gonna rebuild my original gearbox with the reductions to pas the car inspection here in belgium.. ya never know here
Paint remover does the job

i'm really a big fan of the mango and the brown interior...

So now what? do i change the color or keep it original?

I think both choices look great, but if it were me, I would stick with what it came with. |

Do whichever you prefer. They are both great color combos. I tend to lean towards what was original but wouldn't feel guilty changing it either if that's what I wanted.
You've essentially rebuilt this bus top to bottom so in my view you have carte blanche on this! _________________ "A rolling bus gathers no rust." |
