As you can tell from my username, I am more experienced with Ovals.

I recently came across this Split. Supposed to be a 1952 with Crotch Coolers, recently imported to the US. I have not seen it in person, so I cannot comment on rust or metal condition, but from the pictures, it appears mostly complete (rims/bumpers?). Supposedly the original engine, transmission, pan, etc

What is this car worth (range) in the real world...

Damn!

Yes wheels and bumpers are wrong.

Looks to be missing the semaphores as well.

The engine looks mostly correct. The manifold is the later replacement 25hp manifold. The coil may be correct. I believe that they switched to that style coil during the '52 crotch cooler model run.

Not sure if the upholstery is original. Almost looks like a corduroy type of material.

If the car is solid it would be a great find.

Not sure on the price. I haven't really been keeping up with that but the missing wheels, bumpers and semaphores do diminish the value and should be used as a negotiating point.

I would look everything over very closely. If the seats have been redone then the car might have been restored at some point. Make sure the fenders are original split fenders and not later fenders. Split fenders have a slightly larger wheel opening. The rears with have the reinforcment pressings between the mounting bolts and there will be a dimple for mounting the tail lights.

Looks interesting and definitely worth a closer look. Seats look like they could be the later style thin stripped steifenbraun. Approx late 51 thru 52 pre zwitter material

There's a guy in New York who says a project split should only be a couple of thousand dollars.... Rolling Eyes

Seriously I hope you are able to get it if it checks out.

Definitely enough details in the pics to make me want to go look at it. What splitjunkie said, check those things. Stab the bottom of the heater channels with the blunt end of a plastic pen. They rust from the inside out. May look "solid" but be paper thin. Sems are ea$y to get, real split fenders not so much, but that wouldn't keep you from enjoying the car. Same with wheels/rims.

Let us know what the $eller is thinking....

Take it, nothing there that can not be replaced or fixed.

Within the near future these cars will all be snapped up, and you may regret not taking it.

What ever you overpaying for it now, will have been absorbed by inflation by the time you have it on the road.

Enjoy
