I'm not sure if this has been posted or not, but I saw this video on YouTube. Approximately 200-300 VW's of various models and years. Really cool to see.

I had to start this video, it looks almost identical to a spot I have here in Arkansas. Once a oasis for aircooled metal, has now become as seen here, a forgotten jungle of German steel.

Cool photos, that is one of the most involved "Bug in a tree" photos I have seen.

My dad and I rescued this 57 Kombi from the central Maine woods about a month ago. My dad's friend's friend had been riding his four-wheeler on a secluded trail when he happened upon this:

When we received pictures of the bus, we knew 1) we absolutely needed to have the bus and 2) it would be a heck of a project, even just to get it out, but we were up for it. Approximately 2 days after the discovery of the bus, we had been given the go-ahead from the landowner to extract the bus and take it home free of charge. It now sits at home, waiting anxiously to get some attention. There are many more pictures of this on my dad's instagram @burlyhammer. Keep an eye on the build threads!!

^^^ Interesting that they re-applied the pin stripe after the two-tone repaint.

Good find.

Actually, the top half is original paint (with presumably OG pinstripe). The bottom half was repainted a darker blue.

Some think that if your beetle has a padded dash, it's an engine donor. Some think that if it has push button door handles, it's a boat anchor.
Do what you want. Ignore the elitists. Drive your VW. Enjoy life.
