I hope this is ok to post. Our local club has put on this show for a number of years. We are hoping it will get bigger and bigger. It's called Busses and Balloons, but it's open to all aircooled enthusiasts. We would love it if more Type 3 people made it for the event. I will list all the info below, if you're near by or far please come. The event coincides with the International Balloon Fiesta, which is a huge event in and of itself, and definitely worth going to as well, and is something you could totally do while you are hanging out with other VW people!
Busses and Balloons 21
Where:
New Covenant Church
7201 Paseo del Norte NE
Albuquerque, NM

Sat night:
Those that have a long trip home are welcome to stay the night and leave bright and early Sunday morning.
PLEASE READ:
Sunday, Oct 15, 2017 We must be OFF the church property by 7:00 am , As every year we have to pack it up and leave due to the church having services that day and they need the parking area. Those dragging a bit that morning have to at least move to the far north east corner of the lot..
That is about it! Keep in mind ….
October in New Mexico can be interesting weather wise. Hot days and chilly nights are not uncommon. Be prepared for weather changes. Bring sunscreen but don’t forget your jacket. Nights can dip into the low 40’s or even 30’s! If campfires are your thing, please bring your own firewood, and all fires must be above ground and contained (fire pits, portable fireplaces, smudge pots…etc). There will be metal trash cans for all ashes. please do not leave your ash on the parking lot. if you need a hand dumping your fire pit, let someone know.
This show is all about having fun, hanging out with friends, and raising money for good causes. There are, however, a few rules.
No glass containers.
No animals off leash or in the show area.
If you bring animals, please control them, and clean up after them.
Please be mindful of other people, and don’t impede their good time.
No on-ground fires. Use Drums and put your ashes in the metal trash cans.
Quiet time from 10pm – 6am.
Although everyone is welcome to attend, we reserve the right to remove anyone from the campout at any time (with good cause) without a refund. Please understand this is to help keep the event fun and keep it going for next year.

I know Santa Fe pretty well, if you wanna know anything like where to eat, or reasons why you should go to Meow Wolf! There's a train from Santa Fe to Abq as well, it's only an hour away driving yourself. It's always good to meet new people!😀 _________________ 1965 Kombi

The plural for Bus is Buses.
Buss is old slang for kissing.

Yeah....I had this conversation last year in regards to the spelling, when designing the t-shirts. It was settled in the two s way. It's a Bi-curious word. _________________ 1965 Kombi

Buses are abuses and need powerful fuses to keep the muses from running away, there are no excuses for such stinky deuces! _________________ 1965 Kombi

LOL!
This came up in the early 1970s when "forced busing" in the LA Unified School District was on the table; this was intended to provide a racially diverse population on their schools, in preference to the "closest to home" rule used to that point.
Of course, it was very controversial, and it eventually morphed into a voluntary system.
But in the meantime, there were many protests, including those carrying signs proclaiming "NO FORCED BUSSING" and I wondered who was being forced to kiss whom? |

Just found out about this yesterday. I plan on attending as long as the weather is ok to make the 7 hour drive. To be honest the square hasn't been out much this summer. The wife and I are excited to take the square out of CO on a road trip for the first time since it's restoration.
