Rescued this bus from my Dad's place where it had been sitting for the past 20+years. He purchased it long ago and just parked it. Never drove it or made any attempts to repair it.
Here is how I found it
Loading it for the 2500 mile journey home
Sitting outside it's new home
M-Plate still intact
Testing a section - used EZ Off Oven Cleaner
Work continued
Side Finished!
Rear Finished!
1/2 Front Finished
Front Finished
Took me a day and a half to complete this. I still have the passenger side and roof left. Bus is in very good shape. Some rust issues in floor, roof and dog legs. I'll post more pics as we go. My son and are working on this together. We also have a 1961 Double Cab that we are working on. Any words of wisdom are always welcome!

Awesome job on bringing that paint back out! looks a lot like my 67 TR/BG 13 window did when we got it.

Stupendous achievement. I would have never believed that could have ever come out that nice. |

Nice work. I was thinking that bus looked really dry for sitting in wet Washington for that long. The OG paint is looking good as well.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I'm excited to get the passenger side finished this weekend. I hope it turns out as nice as the drivers side.
I hauled the bus to Washington from a small town in Missouri. It's going to be a fun project for me and my son who just turned 16. |

I finished up the passenger side and the roof last weekend. Looks pretty good. Some bondo on the cargo doors and rear corner. I'm going to try to tackle that next. Then on to the rusted areas.

Started on the rust repair. Trying to save as much of the OG metal and paint as possible.
Going to start in the front and work my way towards the rear.
Drivers side before
Tried my best to keep the outer original dogleg intact. Had to replace most of the inner dogleg.
Turned out pretty good.
Passenger side before - Fortunately only the lower dogleg was toast.
Passenger side repairs - A - Pillar was bad - had to replace the lower portion.
Completed passenger side - minus the drain hole.

Having a good time fixing the rust issues.
Moved on to cargo doors - the lower section on both doors was rusted out. Fortunately it was just the inside portion and I was able to save the outer doorskin.
Finished!
Going to tackle the rocker area this weekend. It's in bad shape.
