The guy I bought it from said the clutch was replaced...didn't mention the cable...no issue just wondering if this is normal. |

Just went through this same problem. Clutch cable was fine. Pulled motor, everything looked fine, put a load on pressure plate, almost no resistance. Cheap Chineses steel did not hold it's "springy". Put in one I had from different Bus, problem solved (for me) . _________________ 1979 Type I Convertible |

Many of the cables out there are too long. I got a cable from Oreillys that was the correct length after getting several cables that were the wrong length from VW parts houses. Note that Oreillys offers several different brands of cables and I am not sure which one I bought. |

I replaced my cable in the spring, only to pull the engine and replace the clutch. The clutch that was in the bus looked OK, but the new clutch works great. The old clutch was just Chinese junk. |

I've had good luck with the Cofle brand cable for my '71. _________________ If you haven't bled on them, you haven't worked on them.
