It looks like you over-polished the trim and removed the swirl marks? Nice bus! |

Used a magnifying glass and no swirl marks were visable, they were pretty rough when I started. The top one in the photo hadn't been touched yet. |

I can see the turning on the first piece.
I cleaned my trim very well with lacquer thinner and a rag, followed with 1 thorough pass with some aluminum polish. _________________ WANTED:

I tried like hell to save the turning. Used everything under the sun BEFORE the 0000 steel wool and polish.
Thank you for sharing ! |

Need some visual help, I am attaching a door table to the door and prop rod. Could someone post some pictures showing the backside of the table and attachment to hinges and prop? I believe the screws may come through the top of the table and are countersunk in the top surface ?
Thank you |

The hinges for the door table are screwed to the backside of the table and the door with the same M2.9x13 screws that are used for the wood interior panels.
The prop bracket is secured to the table with aluminum rivets. Not sure what size screws are used to attach the other end of the prop to the bottom of the door; hopefully someone will chime in with the size.

Looks like I will need a couple of the aforementioned aluminum rivets........also what is the distance from the edge of the table for the first rivet?
Thank you |

Hey Tom, this is Dan from San Diego, I stopped on by and forgot that I had seen your build thread! And even made a few comments. Happy to see it in person in retrospect now. Hope you get lucky with the sprinkler head by the way! _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

Dan,
It was very nice meeting you. Glad you stopped by. Appreciate the information you have shared. In chatting with some folks at the show they did not realize it was mostly original paint.
It was awesome weather and great people!
Thanks, Tom |
