Yes, actually. My bus is a daily driver - a work vehicle. I think this is a very viable option whenever my rebuilt type 4 grenades.

it's stuff like this that make it all worth it. the relationships/friendships forged working with people. makes all the b/s totally worth it when the owners still keep in touch.

Just sent off 3 harness for him to do. He was very quick to reply.

would love to have you PM me your recommendation for the radiator setup.... Me and a co-worker are doing the swap and that leaves 1 extra for another later down the road. I'm doing a 2.5 in a 73 west automatic.

no need for a p/m. I tried to help a few swapper out. no one will spend the money for the setup I use, so it isn't worth telling anyone. just use a big radiator and design it however you see fit.

it's more than just a radiator....it's the whole package. lots of tricks in my underbelly setup. this is why I have a texas bus doing 75 with the a/c on.

by the time you get done will all of what makes my setup successful, it's just shy of 900.00. but, it's been proven to cool even a 6 cylinder.

the real problem is I gave away a grocery list of stuff to do it. 1 guy was in a hurry, used some toilet radiator and had overheating issues....then expected me to diagnose...done doing that....if you're (not you, just saying) not going to do what I told you, why bother asking?

sorry, just got fed up. join the FB Subaru powered vw group. lots of bad info to sort thru, but some smart guys on there

It's proven successful at ~ $900. If down right seems inexpensive since a Subaru conversion is not as cheap as one might be led to believe. I'd be open to invest in what Skills is suggesting.

Trial and error...
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?p=8487777#8487777
but Andrew eventually went with a oe vanagon radiator where the 2 pipe connections are already in the bottom/back right corner of the radiator.
running a passat 190hp 1.8Turbo successfully.

but I add . trial and error.. plus some understanding of fluid dynamics on how air flows from high pressure into low pressure zones..

Thanks. I'm a "Cry Once" kind of guy, so I don't mind spending to get the best results, especially if someone else has done all the trail and error and has a winning solution. Same with the wiring conversion. I have the skill and know how to do them myself, but time is $$ and AutoVentures came recommended as one of the best, so I can spend my time on other things.
