I don't know what the protocol is here for video links, but I just stumbled on something astounding. At about 5:11, the entire 1958 type 2 line parades by, announced rather awkwardly by people I grew up listening to on AM radio. There is also a VERY brief clip of a "Champagne" bus (this is black and white TV, alas) at around 4:06. Overall, the sheer panoply of cars shown here is worth any Old Car enthusiast's time.
I also don't know whether this has been posted about yet or not, I hope it's new to someone; this is a LONG thread.

Hmmm...., either that's top sectret minature radio equipment sized for Oompaloompas or Munchkins, or it's another similarly equipped larger van. Looks awful roomy in there. Assuming the paper coming from the printer is ~11" wide the scale doesn't work in a VW.
Cool stuff none the less, I'll bet the VW had the basic stuff and that depicts the top of the line version, maybe a command center or hub for the smaller satellite VW's to check in with? That cold war stuff is amazing, they had it planned out very well in Europe being so close to the USSR and all. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

I agree but that is they way it is listed on the Suisse Defense vehicle web site. And if it's on the internet it must be true. |

That's more like it, the other one was a little optomistic about the available space. Neat bus, same outriggers (or whatever they are) beside the jack points as well.
I guess you have to watch out for low awnings at drive through donut shops with that one? _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.
