Convert Westfalia kneebrace h-bar to gas strut

Looking into the options, I dislike the H-bar kneebrace whatnot you call the outdated device and instead going to the modern gas strut of the later EV Westfalia's

I am hopeful that someone will be able to let me in on what the process might entail. I'd appreciate a few pictures if anyone has some that show placement of the mount locations of each of the types.

I just installed this kit. Very easy, get some 6mm nut inserts from McMaster Carr to make installation cleaner. It works great!
