I have a tow bar I use to move my '65 bug. Can anyone tell me if I can use it on a '73 Ghia? |

I have a standard beetle towing bar that I use when needed to tow my 73 Ghia. It clamps around torsion bar tube. I also have a standard beetle tow bar fitted to my Ghia that I use to tow a trailor or my sleeping pod when I go to weekend sleepover meetings.

There have been discussions on this topic such as this:

You can use a bug tow bar but you will need to be careful as the Ghia could contact the tow vehicle in a tight turn - due to the way the headlights protrude forward versus a Beetle. It is recommended that the standard Beetle tow bar be lengthened or you use a receiver extension.
As with towing anything be sure to use safety chains and lights on the vehicle being towed. _________________ Ghia Owner Emeritus |
