Anyone camping out and feel like trading some beers? I might hit a brewery or 2 in Rhode Island and mass on the way up there wouldn't mind trading some cans with some of you maniacs or vermonsters (iso: Bissell Bros and heady topper) |

I am! But unfortunately not camping with you guys.
This is one of my favorite shows of the year! Stan does a bang up job organizing and executing this giant task every year. Keep up the good work and we appreciate your dedication, so we can all enjoy a beautiful day/weekend with other VW enthusiasts. _________________ I had a life but my job ate it...

I'll be getting there late on Friday - like 11:30-midnight. Going to House of Blues in Boston Friday night...
Who will have the gate code to let me in, and more importantly, still be awake (and not passed out by the fire). _________________ John - 86 Wolfsburg Westfalia "Weekender"

Is that list from last year? I'm on it (with my last name mis-spelled) but I won't be camping this year, just coming to the show. I don't think David Beierl is going either, and his name is on there, too.
Also, if I want to vend, is it just one price for that or do I pay for entry as well?
Thanks,

The camping list was developed from last year, since most people come back every year. I will pull you off and let me know the correct spelling of your last name. Thanks for the heads up and I'll text David to see if he is camping this year.
Vending is $20 per vehicle, that is all you will pay, unless you have more than one vehicle to vend from. Cash only, day of show. Just be sure to enter past the registration tent on the right side of the main field, with the show cars, and we will park you in a vendor spot. _________________ Stan's Classic Service, specializing in air-cooled VWs:

Weather on Sunday is looking good so far. Everyone sleep with spoons under your pillows, flush ice down the toilet, whatever is your good luck rituals... make it happen.
See you folks on sunday. _________________ 77 Westy - Cape Cod Sage

NOTICE: We (LiMBO) are gathering materials or money for such - for a shipment to Puerto Rico for Angel, aka Dr.Fish.
Angel has camped with us in VT, and contributed to LiMBO with articles and his presence.
Trish Gordon talked to him and I am coordinating this w/her. "he asked for d and AAA batteries, water bottle filters, 4 , and an inverter 12 to 110 volts to get some energy from cars ..."
I'll be at Transporterfest to accept items or cash to buy them and pay for shipping. Trish asked for my help because she will not able to make Transporterfest
Stan can point you in my direction. I'll also be at the campout
Thanks for your attention.

Note that there will be a road race again along the Riverway/Jamaicaway/Arborway in the morning. Roads closed until 10:30ish. See baa.org . You need to come in from the west.

I'm very sorry I was not able to make it this year. we used to be the ones vending in the really rough looking red '71 Westfalia selling parts left over from our dad's hoard.
Well, I decided to retire that car for the time being and pool my resources into a better 1970 bus that needed some accident bodywork, drivetrain and NOT rust repair. this '71 was starting to sag around the rear torsion bar tubes, and though mechanically was ok, it needed a new muffler, a pushrod tube oil leak fixed, a few broken exhaust studs, valve adjustment. etc.. It seemed to make more sense to take the engine out and put it in my other one and make that one my good one.
I worked like a pig on my blue '70 for a month, and it all came down to the wire in the last few days. But instead of a week shakedown time like I wanted to, to road test it , instead I only got a day and a half, and a dragging rear brake drum was a deal breaker. Its an easy fix with new brake cylinders, but I had zero time left to make repairs.
We could have loaded up our parts in a different vehicle and trailer, but it appears that it rained anyway around noon, so that sounds like it wouldn't have been much fun anyway. Mostly I was exhausted from all the sleepless nights. I was seriously busting my ass to get this thing ready, though I'm disappointed, I know I cut corners and ignored other parts of it to prioritize, and now I know it will be so much better for the next show. So, when is the next show?
Is there still a swap meet in Lee NH in the fall or did that one go away?
-Tara
