60 Idle
120 idle jet holder
160 main
40 Vent
F11 emulsion tube
That was with 2 progression holes. I tried to run 42 vent but it was actually slower in the 1/4 and had a horrible stumble on the street that could only be fixed with a mixture that was too rich. Similar engine to you. |

42mm venturis - There is hardly any vaccuum signal left in the throat so will be sluggish. You need some venturi effect to pull fuel into the carb throats.
when you go too large w/ the choke size this is what happens. As soon as you crack the throttle plates open, atmospheric pressures equalize quickly above and below = so no more air movement. That is why the stumble.
I like the venturis on the smaller side of the spread to keep the engine happy. |

Don't know about you but I bin running 42 vents for many years and I am getting really good results with my 42 intake valves and fk 10 on my 2500 and my 2176/e130x1.25 cam. It's all about tuning. You have enough cc to be able to get away with jus about whatever you go with if tuned correctly. My jetting is F2/170m/195a street F7/165m/200a, both with 42 vents and 70 idle. I'm at sea level also so bigger idle works for me all around even when I ran 2 and now 3 progressive holes. Try go check with John at AC.net. Up to you what you like do. Aloha |
