I think even my dad would find that caption hysterical!
(He was a WWII Marine pilot, and had a print off Joe Rosenthal's original negative of the flag raising, prior to it being published, now a cherished keepsake of my two brothers and myself).
Make it a little more like it...

We had the biggest turnout yet this time. 29 Type 3s on Friday (30 if you count Vince Petrie’s Type 3-powered Puma that met us at the Port San Luis lunch stop) — that’s twice was many as the first day in 2014 — and 33 Type 3s on Saturday. Here’s the breakdown:

A couple of non-Type 3 aircooleds were also there:
The 1950 split window Beetle that Ryan Siordia brought to Port San Luis
Katie and Chris Stone drove the Saturday route in their Porsche 911
And a few of us brought up the rear in our water-cooled daily drivers.
In all we had 11 Notchbacks, 10 Squarebacks, 5 Fastbacks and 7 Type 34s. Not too shabby!
More than 70 people and two dogs attended!

We want to thank everyone who took part in the rally — whether you drove a Type 3, rode shotgun or lent a hand to help, you made it happen. It’s so cool to us that everyone makes the time to come from all over California to be a part of our little event. What an amazing community we have.
A huge shout out to:

This event was so thoroughly organized and the folks helped so generously that we were truly spoiled.
"Tell me where to be and when."
"Tell me how to get there."
"Feed me, I'm hungry."
"Gimme a drink, I'm tired."
"Fix my damn car."
All taken care of without hassle to those like me who merely attended! These things doesn't happen by themselves, and my thanks go to those listed above (and perhaps others) who gave so much. Truly excellent!

I was so spoiled and in the zone that when I got home, I said all of this to my wife and she smacked the shit out of me.

Here is a 20 minute time lapse GoPro video of the entire Saturday drive! It was edited by my girlfriend, Melanie. If you get queasy, just focus on the peak in the hood..  Its well worth the watch!
