Looks like a typical flat top 383 cap, but 10 mm taller and uses three screws to hold the the top in place. Would be nice to obtain the correct rotor at the same time. Was also used on Goliath 1100s in the latter '50s.
Can anyone help with a source out there?

Assuming you want to run this on a VJ 4 BR 8, 0 231 129 019, VJ 4 BR 25, 0 231 129 010, VJU 4 BR 8. The tall cap will not work with a BRS 383 or earlier distributor.
They come up NOS about as often as the Bosch VW flat tops, which is to say not that often.
Have you tried posting a wanted ad on this site? That's how I eventually got my flat top with raised finger cap. It took a bit over a year to find one.
The rotor will be the same as those used on the 010,019. _________________ Roads Scholar &

Thanks very much for the additional information regarding the rotor etc. I have indeed posted a want ad in the split classifieds. Now I just need the right person to read it and respond! |
