As title says. I'm trying to decide on new front tires. I've searched images and threads and after and hour I'm still left wanting. Currently have 205/70/14 on the front and hate the look. Need pics of 205/60/14, 195/60/14, and possibly 215/60/14? Wheels are appliance pacer, but anything will do.

Please...

I see your question is still up without a response. My fronts must be very close to that size but I don't know what width rim I have. Next time I back the Buggy out of the hay shed I will try to remember to take a picture for you. I don't mind the looks of mine but the speedo is reading in the order of 11% high.

Maybe
I will check my sizes and send a picture if it is this size, one thing I know is I have OEM 14 VW Thing wheels on the front that are like 5 or 5.5 wide. Check my gallery, but I will go to my shop later today and get the size for you.

Well, my gallery answered the question, mine are 70's not 60's on 5 wide wheels.

Fronts are on Bus wide-5 rims, 14x6. 205/60s.

A few caveats on the photo:

My car has a 3" body lift and a 6" wider beam. Car is designed for dirt use, but I have a set if rims and tires for street use that are pictured.

The lift and front beam make these tires look pretty small in the wheel wells, so I don't know if this pic would help you much.

If I think of it in a timely fashion, next time I'm in the shop I'll pull these tire/wheel off the shelf in my garage and take a pic of the tire up close for you.

On my beam there is some tire rub at full lock. Might not be an issue for you if your backspacing on your rims is different than that of these bus rims.

Steering is a bit heavy because of the width. My much heavier but narrower dirt tire/rim combos steer much lighter.

That being said, the car handles like a slot car with these tires and wheels on it. Lotsa fun to drive, I usually put them on for a few weeks in summer when I don't have plans to visit the mountains or the beach.

As I said however, my suspension configuration is different enough from the car you've posted pics of that little to none of this info may be of any use to you. Regardless, good luck with your car!

I’m more concerned with the profile of the tire and wheel. Strictly a looks things. I’ll probably go with a 195 as I don’t really like how the 205 comes outside the rim so much.

What? It flies off the track, crashes on the bedroom wall or get lost in the pile of rubbish under the bed at each hairpin turn?? My Tyco slot cars did that a lot !!! Smile

It must be the lift; the wheels look small, Wythac. I love the simple look of smoothies.
