Gas Tank w/ Fuel Sending Unit Question

Can anyone tell me if the tank is correct for a 1957 Oval and if the sending unit is aftermarket (if so, what brand?)? Looks mechanical.

The sender looks like the correct electrical VDO unit. You may have to remove and dismantle it to install a new sender wire inside the tube. The tank looks correct, vertical impressions on the front were post '56 IIRC, someone here will surely correct me if I am wrong.

Definitely 57 tank. Never came with gas gauge so definitely aftermarket. Don't know make but not a Motometer. There a gauge in car?

The sender is a dealer option at the time. It’s a VDO brand deal. You can find the gauges from time to time but the senders are wicked rare. PM me if you have questions on taking it apart to replace the wire inside. It’s not hard but it must be done very carefully.
