I just went to the Classified section to browse around and check out what's in the Offroad sections. There was a "Featured Ad" for an item I hope off roaders on here will not buy and use.
That's a fuel pump mount bracket that uses the exhaust studs on the cylinder heads to mount a fuel pump.
There have been a number of times when I drove my Baja Bug or buggy on the highway or at speed offroad and stopped at night. At these times, the headers often glow near the heads. Some coatings can mask that, and you may not notice it when the area has a lot of light or the lights of another car shine on it, but it indicates that the exhaust can get VERY HOT!!!!
I cannot recommend mounting a fuel pump or any other fuel handling equipment to anything that might get that hot. I like my cars way too much to burn any of them to the ground.
This bracket might SEEM handy, but for any VW that EVER gets started up, even a lawn show car, I recommend against this bracket. _________________ Richard
