just thinking about the conversion possibilities to an electric vanagon with the power and torque this little datsun car has it could be adapted to a vanagon obviously it would need to be designed with less power and more running time but just wanted to open the eyes of people about what is out there. sorry if it dosent conform to forum protocol. _________________ i see said the blind man to his deaf dog

Eh, it seems anticlimactic at best. It's missing the thrill of seeing the flames leaping in & out of the drag pipes & feeling the percussion of their rhythmic dance pounding you in the chest like you're standing too close to the amps at a night club only to have your heart skip a beat as the driver floors it causing you to inhale the oddly sweet smelling race fuel as the fire breathing dragon roars down the track, man, what a rush. Sadly, that experience is probably doomed to be replaced by what is effectively two fratholes squaring off in stolen golf carts at the country club.
"Ooh, great burnout, great burnout" with all the excitement of watching a mixer whipping cream... without the satisfaction of whipped cream. _________________ Everybody born before 1975 has a story, good, bad, or indifferent, about a VW.

Semi agree, its like when the Thunder Boats ran out of Allisons and all now use jet turbine motors. The noise was half the fun, but I still like to watch them go fast. _________________ Prosit!

Guess I'm a traditionalist too. It's lost too much of the excitement. |

Even with the slowest RT?
Nothing beats sound out to Bonneville but there is something to be said about a quiet vehicle running as fast without the noise. _________________ Rick

For the better part of 30 years I've been alongside JT-8D jet engines running balls out, ditto CFM-56. Literally standing just inches away on a scaffold during a full power run to trim the fuel control. Hearing loss that's what I'm talking about. I welcome anything that will lessen the damage to my hearing. It's just my opinion, that's it. |
