I looked but did not see answer. When doing full flow oil mod on 1600 is is necessary to plug the oil outlet hole in the case that corresponds with the (plugged) hole in the pump? Wondering if the pump fit is tight enough to make this a non-problem. Thanks

If the fit is tight, then maybe you don't need to, but tapping the case is almost easier than bolting it together and trial fitting a pump. If it's loose, you're idle pressure can suffer because some pressure will bleed off there.. why risk it?

Yes plugging the case side is recommended.

Im not aloud to do stickeys...... Wink auto parts store or machine shop should have them. i used to have hundrads at the shop. as the plug kits came with both screw in and "knock" in plugs.( freezzzee plug /gally plug kits) most have the size stamped inside of them.and...not all oil pumps take the same size plugs. so..no I dont remember what size they take. some are metrick and some arnt.... one other note...be sure you plug the right hole on the pump...oops, scratch that, plug the correct hole. I have seen oil pumps at the swap meats Shocked that had both holes taped...... Embarassed I just smiled and wondered when they figured the rong hole was pluged..ouch that hurts!!! dead bearings!!!!! remember the shaft is on top...hmm better clarify...the drive grea shaft hole is the top hole that lines up with the cam shaft..and the out let oil hole is also above center line. I reckon somebody could of used that pump for a ext pickup......

I don't have a Dorman part #,but a 7/16 freeze plug works on a AS21 Brazilian case.

I'd want to have the thermal-expansion rate of the plug to be close to the thermal-expansion of the case.
