Well, I took my engine out to do some work on it and when I was bolting it back up today, there isn't a nut or bolt on the upper right mounting hole engine or trans side.
I'm brain dead obviously, isn't there supposed to be a fixed bolt from the trans side? |

On the right/top there is a longish bolt that holds on the starter as well. Nut on the engine side.
Left/top there is a nut insert in the engine on most. VW did that because with the doghouse cooler you can't reach there. Older models may not have an insert....or somebody took it out, but these days MOST do. |

Passenger side will be about a 4- 1/4 inch (110 mm) "D" head
bolt that goes through starter, bell housing and engine...
