True true. I've been either wrenching on the 64 notch or dinking on the 77 west. Work and life have picked up as well. I've even talked to Stuart about getting this project out of stall. It's so close to being done.

Bitter sweet day with the 74.
Its safe to say that the glass has been out of this bus since January 2013. I shocked myself looking back. Over 5 F&(king years! And its still not all in.
I have a new drive to fix this sucker up and use it. She has for sure been sitting long enough. Especially when I have most of the stuff on hand to get er done.
That said...I put some glass in with the help of my daughter. Yeah! That all went pretty easy. The JK slider just needs to be shoved completely in then it pulls real easy. All of them for that matter just need to be shoved in with lots of soap. Essentially installing it less the gasket over the metal lip.
After all that good work I then took it upon myself to exorcise the demons that lye under the paint. You know the ones that cause you to scratch the shit out of it while working on it? Closing the slider door I dented and took a chunk out of it This after 5 years of being stupid careful.
Oh well it can be fixed.
Look for more action in this space.

Went to dink around with the 74 today and found Im missing the drivers side - long piece curtain rod cover meat piece. Its pop riveted to the body and lets you screw the cover/valance to it.
Anyone gots one or know of a parted westy?

Hey Jason,
You might check with this dude. He's been parting out a '74. I recognize its all the way across country, but hopefully it helps:

:2gunfire:
I kept thinking there was no way Id toss the piece I needed. But I couldnt find it. Drove me nuts.
Went up to Stus yesterday and got the one out of his 78 Westy. Soon as I took it out I said - there now Ill find the og one. Today I get the one out I got from Stu - check a spot real quick in the garage where I hadn't looked - bingo. Find the og one. Dumbass.
Good thing too - the later is shorter.

Hello
I have exactly the same amenagement as you in my westy.
I also have the same option M flat: the foldable spare wheel.
but it is not present in mine, the former owner has installed a support on the front, which I would like to remove.
Can you tell me where the spare wheel was installed in the layout? |

Thank you for your answer.
I now understand what the button on the floor of this closet is for.
I'm going to get a foldable tire to put back as original.
My Westy is in super original condition. He only had one owner before me, and has been stocked since 2000.
Restarting is done slowly. The engine runs round, but still a lot of work on brakes, bearings, dampers.
