On my '55 vert there are 2 slots on the body for the big spring. I was having rubbing issues with the fan housing. Does the spring attach to the lower slot on the body or upper one. I have a later 1600 fan housing with later deck lid hinges. |

If your spring is installed upside down, you have the issue you describe. Make sure it is the correct way. _________________ Formerly known in the forums as "OVALTEEN"

If It's upside down would it still prop up the deck lid? Mine is propped up. |

Yup, been there done that. Had the same exact issue you are having. Kept rubbing the fan shroud. _________________ Formerly known in the forums as "OVALTEEN"
