|
|
An original ignition switch, correct for my 1964 Ghia arrived today. I thought it would be pretty easy to install it, however, I'm finding it a real challenge!
I'm trying to hold the switch in position behind the dash with my left hand, while trying to start the screw from below the dash and into its hole in the switch strap with my right hand. Maybe if my arms were longer it would be easier?
Does anyone have any "tricks of the trade" they can share?

Use some painters tape to hold in position? Or fishing line tied off? |

After a lot of stretching, contorting, patience, and cussing, i got the switch installed today. What a PITA! It was all worth it though! She cranks stronger and springs to life quicker that she did with the previous aftermarket ignition switch.
Next on the list is to replace the cheesy repop headlight switch with an original switch. After that, I'll start troubleshooting the inoperable wipers. _________________ “Tinker Toy” 1967 Savannah Beige Beetle Sedan...........Mostly Original Survivor
